Make It Real Challenge — by Squarespace and Contra. With the release of Finish Layer, Squarespace's powerful new suite of design tools, Squarespace launched the Make It Real Challenge, a call to show the breadth of what the platform can do. Finish Layer brings animation and advanced creative control on top of an already intuitive builder.
Joy and Reyna of Hello World Studio invited me to join forces on a submission. My role was web developer, bringing the build to life, while the team finessed the design.
The Result
We won Overall Winner! 🎉
The design itself brought forward exactly the details the challenge set out to celebrate. On the development side, I pushed the new Finish Layer to its limits, using Stacks for clean alignment and a distinctive card layout, and taking extra care with the animation on each element so the scroll experience feels considered from top to bottom.
